Mona Verde: an urban jungle above the Avenida
A rooftop with a tropical décor
On Rua Castilho, very close to Avenida da Liberdade, the Mona Experience group has set up Mona Verde on the eighth floor of a building in the neighbourhood. Plants, jungle-patterned murals and soft lighting create a tropical décor that contrasts with the classic façades of the surrounding area.
From the terrace, the view opens onto central Lisbon and faces the hill of São Jorge Castle; at sunset, the river glimmers in the distance behind the roofs.
Latin cuisine and tropical cocktails
Executive chef Inga Martin has created a menu that reinterprets Mediterranean flavours with a Latin American touch: flame-seared meats, ceviches, vegetable dishes and desserts, all designed for sharing. Seasonal produce and local suppliers are favoured whenever possible.
The cocktails follow the same path, with inspiration from Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Cuba, between bold recipes and tropical notes. In the evening, musicians and DJs with tropical sounds keep the atmosphere going until late.

Mona Verde opens in the evening, from 6pm until late; opening days may change, so it is best to check before you come. Tables can be booked online via the website.
