W Lounge: cocktails above the Dam
A luxury hotel bar in the heart of the old centre
W Amsterdam, a five-star hotel on the Spuistraat, is just a few steps from Dam Square and the Royal Palace. On the 6th floor, W Lounge serves both as a lounge for hotel guests and as a cocktail bar open to the public. The room stretches along large picture windows: curved sofas, gold coffee tables, plants and a suspended fireplace create a setting that is bright by day and intimate by night.
The view takes in the whole neighbourhood: the rooftops and gables of the historic centre, the nearby church towers and, very close by, the dome and silhouette of the Royal Palace. Right next door, W Amsterdam also has a rooftop pool, the WET Deck, separate from the bar.
A changing cocktail list
The cocktail list is regularly updated, mixing house creations and great classics, alongside champagne and wines. VIP areas can be booked for groups. From Thursday to Saturday, DJs take over and the lounge takes on a party atmosphere.
The best time to come
In the late afternoon, you can enjoy the light on the rooftops; after nightfall, the mood becomes more festive. A “smart casual” dress code is requested.

Open Monday to Wednesday from 5pm to midnight, Thursday from 11:30am to 12:30am, Friday and Saturday from 11:30am to 1:30am, Sunday from 11:30am to midnight. Expect to pay €18 to €19 for a cocktail.
