Blue: Amsterdam in 360° from a glass tower
Above the Kalverstraat
Right in the centre, between the Singel and the Kalverstraat, Amsterdam’s main shopping street, the Kalverpassage shopping centre is topped by a glass tower around thirty metres high, the Kalvertoren. On the 3rd floor, Blue occupies a fully glazed room, sheltered from the weather.
The panorama is one of the most complete in the centre: you can make out the Rijksmuseum, the Munt tower, the Westerkerk, the Carré theatre, Central Station, the Royal Palace on the Dam and the flower market. The pointed roofs of the canal houses stretch as far as the eye can see.
A daytime spot
Blue is mainly a daytime venue: coffee and pastries, breakfast, lunch, then an “early dinner” and drinks, the Dutch “borrel”. The regularly updated menu offers sandwiches, salads, burgers, soups and bitterballen. In the evening, the room can be booked for private events.
A break from shopping
Located in the heart of the shopping district, Blue is ideal for a break between two visits: come up for a coffee facing the rooftops or for a drink at the end of the day, in a relaxed atmosphere.
