Le Salama: skybar and dinner show near Jemaa el-Fna
Three levels above rue des Banques
Le Salama is on rue des Banques, in the medina, a few minutes' walk from Jemaa el-Fna square. The building rises over three levels, each with its own atmosphere, up to the skybar at the top. Under an arbour of climbing plants, the tables face the rooftops of the medina, the minarets and, on clear days, the line of the Atlas.
A drink at sunset
Alcohol is served: the skybar offers a cocktail menu combining international spirits, spices, herbs and citrus fruits, and the restaurant serves wine. The most popular time remains sunset; it is best to arrive a little beforehand to settle in.
Moroccan cuisine and a show
The menu draws on Moroccan tradition, with dishes made for sharing: tagines, couscous, grilled dishes, mezze and Marrakchi tanjia, beef shank cooked for eight hours in the embers. A tasting menu at 600 dirhams per person (minimum two diners) covers the classics. Every evening at 9pm, musicians and belly dancers liven up dinner.
Practical information
Le Salama is open every day from 10am to 2am. Booking is recommended, especially for a table at sunset: online via the website or by WhatsApp on +212 6 75 48 00 18. Allow 190 to 235 dirhams for a tagine. From Jemaa el-Fna square, rue des Banques is a few minutes' walk away.
A lively spot for an aperitif on the rooftops followed by a Moroccan dinner and a show, in the heart of the medina.
