La Pergola: jazz on the rooftops of Riad Monceau
A hanging garden near Jemaa el-Fna
La Pergola stretches across the terraces of Riad Monceau, a ten-room guesthouse tucked away in Derb Lahbab, on the Riad Zitoun Lakdim side, about a hundred metres from Jemaa el-Fna square. Plants, colourful parasols and illuminated signs create an urban garden setting, with the minaret of the Koutoubia and the rooftops of the medina as a backdrop.
Jazz as a signature
Music defines the venue's identity: live jazz sessions take place every evening from 8pm to 11pm. The rest of the time, a jazzy soundtrack accompanies the afternoon.
Moroccan wines and food to share
Alcohol is served: the menu highlights Moroccan wines and signature cocktails, such as the Morocco Mule. On the food side, the menu offers charcuterie and cheese boards, Moroccan tapas, large salads and a pulled beef burger. Happy hour runs from 4pm to 6pm.
Practical information
La Pergola is open every day from noon to 11pm. No need to book for a drink; reservations are requested for lunch or dinner, by phone. It can be reached on foot from Jemaa el-Fna square by heading into Riad Zitoun Lakdim. Casual dress.
