A historic address in Chiaia
The Grand Hotel Parker's overlooks the Chiaia district from Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the long balcony road that winds along the hillside. The hotel, which has been welcoming travellers since 1870, devotes its upper floors to dining and drinks. On the sixth floor, the Bidder Terrace runs along the façade, punctuated by statues of Muses holding up the lights. The restaurant George, which holds two stars in the Michelin Guide, shares these heights and serves fine dining rooted in Campanian tradition in the evenings.
From Vesuvius to Capri
From the balustrade, the panorama takes in the whole bay: the port of Mergellina and the Posillipo hill on one side, the Castel dell'Ovo and Vesuvius on the other, and Capri resting on the horizon on clear days. From June to September, the seventh-floor rooftop, a grassed roof with its own bar, also welcomes visitors who are not staying at the hotel: it is the highest point of the Parker's, ideal at sunset.
Cocktails, chic street food and family recipes
The Bidder Bar offers signature cocktails, a series of seven spritzes inspired by the terrace's Muses and the great classics, at €22 to €24 a glass. To go with them, the “Street Fine Food” menu reinvents Neapolitan street food as small bites, at €8 for two pieces. The all-day menu pays tribute to the recipes of Mamma Matilde, the hotel's historic owner, with a Sunday lunch dedicated to her. On the summer rooftop, the drinks list is created with Campari.

The Bidder Terrace serves every day from noon to 11pm and the Bidder Bar is open from 6.30pm to midnight. The seventh-floor rooftop operates from June to September, from 6.30pm to midnight. The restaurant George is open from Tuesday to Saturday, for dinner only, by reservation. Bookings on +39 081 761 2474 or via the website form. Piazza Amedeo station (Linea 2) and the Corso Vittorio Emanuele stop on the Chiaia funicular are a few hundred metres away.
