Studio 14: drinks live from the 14th floor

Berlin and Brandenburg's public broadcaster, rbb, has set up a hybrid venue called Studio 14 on the 14th floor of its television centre on Masurenallee. At certain times, the group's radio stations, such as Fritz, radioeins and radio3, and the regional television channel broadcast live from here: guests watch the presenters at work, drink in hand. The rest of the time, the space works as a large lounge lined with picture windows, extended by a wooden rooftop terrace.

From up here, the view takes in western Berlin, from the Teufelsberg hill to the TV Tower on Alexanderplatz, which stands out on the horizon. Late in the day, low-angled light washes over the rooftops, then the city lights up below.

Simple Berlin dishes and classic cocktails

The menu is simple and affordable: currywurst, Käsespätzle, Flammkuchen, toasted sandwiches, salads and waffles, from €5.50 to €15.50. At the bar, classic cocktails cost between €12.50 and €14.80 and spritzes €9.80, and there are also long drinks, draught beers and German wines. On summer days, an outdoor bar serves drinks right on the terrace.

The venue also hosts concerts, debates and evening events, and can be hired for corporate events, receptions or parties, terrace included.

Practical information

The bar normally opens Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm; since September, it has been open to the public Thursday to Sunday because of a weekly broadcast. It may close on certain days for a broadcast or a private event, so it is best to check the online calendar before you go. Booking online.
