Golvet: Michelin-starred dining and a bar above Potsdamer Platz
A panorama over the Kulturforum
Golvet occupies the 8th floor of the Loeser & Wolff building, at Potsdamer Straße 58, 32 metres above the street. The large picture windows look straight out over Potsdamer Platz and the Kulturforum: you can pick out the Philharmonie, the Staatsbibliothek, the district's glass towers and, depending on your table, the Victory Column or the TV Tower. The dark, understated interior lets the view take centre stage, while works by Berlin street artists line the walls. In fine weather, a few tables are set out on the terrace.
Creative cooking and fermented cocktails
Awarded one Michelin star, the cooking is creative and gives pride of place to vegetables, without forgetting fish and meat; fermenting, smoking and drying often feature on the plate. Menus range from four to seven courses, and you can dine facing the open kitchen, at the chef's counter. The cellar holds more than 600 wines, from grands crus to natural wines.
The bar is also open to those not staying for dinner. Its cocktails, from €16 to €18, feature miso, soy sauce or lacto-fermentation, and a range of alcohol-free creations is offered at the same price. For events, the restaurant can be booked for exclusive use: up to 90 guests seated or 150 for a standing reception.
