L'Archipel: Strasbourg seen from the ninth floor
A restaurant and bar at the top of the Wacken
Opened at the end of 2022 in the Wacken business district, not far from the European institutions, L'Archipel occupies the upper reaches of the AC Hotel by Marriott. Simply take the lift up to the ninth floor to discover a vast, light-filled restaurant, a lounge bar with a hushed atmosphere and, on fine days, a terrace open onto the city. There's no need to stay at the hotel: the venue welcomes everyone.
A view over the rooftops to the Vosges
From the large picture windows as well as from the terrace, the panorama stretches across Strasbourg's rooftops, from which the cathedral spire rises, with the line of the Vosges on the horizon. At the end of the day, the sunset sets the city ablaze, before its lights take over.
Seasonal cuisine and signature cocktails
In the kitchen, chef Garry Baud, who holds the title of Maître Restaurateur, creates seasonal, homemade French cuisine with a few Asian touches. The autumn 2026 menu, for example, features frogs' legs with persillade, a burger with Munster cheese and kimchi-style sauerkraut, or a sirloin steak with Alsace black garlic, and the weekly menu changes regularly. At the bar, head bartender Sébastien Pellegrini's team serves signature cocktails at around €15, spritzes and a finger-food menu. An all-you-can-eat brunch is held about once a month and, in winter, the Apéro Folies after-work events bring DJs and cocktails together every week.
The restaurant, bar and terrace can be hired for seminars, drinks receptions or parties.
Practical information
The restaurant serves every day from 11.45am to 2pm and from 6.45pm to 10.30pm. The bar is open every evening from 5pm to 1.30am; the terrace, meanwhile, only opens in the warmer months and depending on the weather. The address is 4 boulevard de Dresde, about fifteen minutes by tram from the railway station. Tables can be booked online or by phone.
To admire Strasbourg from above, drink in hand or around a table, L'Archipel is an address worth remembering.
