Pica-Pica: the roofs of Dijon from the Centre Dauphine
A restaurant perched above the historic centre
For a long time, Dijon had hardly any true rooftop. Pica-Pica filled that gap in early April 2026 by moving into the fourth and top floor of the renovated Centre Dauphine, right in the pedestrian area. The venue is the work of Alexandre Hulin and Jean-Charles Vernaud, who head the Dijon-based group Les Tontons Gourmands.
Inside, the dining room goes all out on profusion: floral carpet, bird-patterned wallpaper, raffia pendant lights, colourful armchairs and a long illuminated bar. Outside, the wooden terrace, partly sheltered beneath a golden structure and lined with glass balustrades, opens onto a sea of tiled roofs.
Notre-Dame, the Palace of the Dukes and Saint-Bénigne
The terrace looks out in two directions. To the south-east, the view stretches towards the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, its Tour Philippe le Bon and the spire of the Church of Notre-Dame; to the south, towards the towers of Saint-Bénigne Cathedral and the copper dome of the Church of Sainte-Anne. With its good exposure, it suits a sunny lunch just as well as an end-of-day drink.
World tapas and affordable cocktails
The menu travels between tapas to share (hummus, gyozas, crab tacos, ceviche), salads, meat and fish, with a few products from Kaviari; on weekday lunchtimes, a dish of the day is offered at €16. In the afternoon, a snack menu takes over. At the bar, most classic cocktails cost €12 and spritzes €10, and a Burgundian gin comes in seasonal variations. The cellar lists some 500 labels, including Burgundies by the glass.
On Saturday evenings, a DJ takes to the decks from 9.30pm to 1.30am. The venue can also be hired, in whole or in part, for events.
Practical information
Pica-Pica is open every day, continuously from 11.30am to 2am. The entrance is on the rue Dauphine side: a dedicated lift goes up to the fourth floor, so you can get there even when the shopping arcade is closed. Bookings are accepted for groups of five or more, for the restaurant area only; the terrace cannot be booked in advance, because of the weather. Appropriate dress is required.
A lively spot for discovering the historic heart of Dijon from its rooftops.
