Sequoia: next door to the Opéra Garnier
The roof terrace of the Kimpton St Honoré
Set in the former Samaritaine de luxe building on boulevard des Capucines, the Kimpton St Honoré opened in 2021. Right at the top, on the 10th floor, the Sequoia spreads across a seasonal terrace of around 300 m² with 80 seats, lined with planters and an arcaded glass canopy. The bar is open to all, with no reservations.
A 360° view over central Paris
The green dome and gilded statues of the Opéra Garnier seem within arm's reach. Further out, the eye takes in the Haussmann rooftops all the way to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, between which the sun sets at the end of the day. At nightfall, solar candles light up all over the terrace.
The menu
Classic cocktails (Pornstar Martini, Moscow Mule, Earl Grey-ni, spicy Paloma) cost €25, spritzes €22 and alcohol-free cocktails €18. There is also rosé from Provence, white and red wines by the glass and several champagnes. For nibbles: dips, sushi, maki or pretzels, from €16 to €24. A minimum spend of €50 per person applies.
Practical information
The Sequoia is open every day from 5pm to midnight, with no reservations; as the terrace is open-air, opening depends on the weather. The venue can be hired for events. Opéra metro station is a five-minute walk away, as is Auber station on RER A.
For a drink facing the Opéra Garnier and the neighbourhood's rooftops, the Sequoia is a top choice in the heart of the Right Bank.
