The Shed: the rooftop garden of the Grands Boulevards
A rooftop hidden at 17 boulevard Poissonnière
You have to walk down the long passageway leading to the Grands Boulevards Experimental hotel, formerly the Hôtel des Grands Boulevards, then climb all the way to the top to discover The Shed. This open-air bar, laid out around the hotel's inner courtyard, cannot be seen from the street. It welcomes everyone, whether or not they are staying at the hotel.
More atmosphere than panorama
There is no grand panorama of monuments here: the terrace, on the 4th floor, looks out over the neighbouring roofs and the façades of the block. Its charm lies in its decor by Dorothée Meilichzon: red awnings, wrought-iron railings, cushioned banquettes, climbing plants and hydrangeas, arranged around a small kiosk that serves as the bar.
A menu ranked by alcohol content
The cocktails, created by Experimental Group, are divided into three families: alcohol-free (No Shed, €10), lightly alcoholic (One Shed, €15) and classics (Two Shed, €16). The menu changes with the seasons; the October 2026 list, for example, features a tequila-based Pineapple Club and a Grands Boulevards made with bourbon and caramelised popcorn. To nibble on: olives, arancini, pâté en croûte, oysters, or plates of Italian charcuterie and cheeses, from €4 to €15.
Practical information
The Shed is open every day from 5pm to 11pm, with food served until 10.30pm, summer and winter alike. As the terrace is small, booking is recommended. Grands Boulevards station (lines 8 and 9) is very close by. The bar can also be hired for drinks with friends or a masterclass.
Green, intimate and central, The Shed will appeal to those who prefer a quiet aperitif to a grand lookout.
