ROOF: the hanging garden of the Poste du Louvre
A rooftop on top of a historic building
Between Les Halles and place des Victoires, the Poste du Louvre is now home to the Madame Rêve hotel. Its roof hosts ROOF, a cocktail bar open to all, reached via 43 rue Étienne-Marcel. Covering more than 1,000 m², a long terrace planted with trees and flowerbeds runs beneath the metal arches of the glass canopy and offers around 250 seats.
Saint-Eustache next door
The panorama is dominated by the nearby church of Saint-Eustache, while the eye takes in the Centre Pompidou and the zinc rooftops of central Paris, all the way to the Sacré-Cœur and the Eiffel Tower. At sunset, the rooftops take on golden hues.
Signature cocktails and finger food
The cocktail list mixes sake, umeshu, yuzu and shiso, at €20 to €22 a glass, with two alcohol-free creations at €14. On the food side, served from 7pm to 10.30pm, it's all about Japanese-inspired finger food: edamame, gyoza, maki rolls, crab tacos or lobster roll, plus desserts by Pierre Hermé. The venue also lends itself to private events.
Practical information
ROOF moves with the seasons: the large open-air terrace welcomes guests in fine weather and, in autumn 2026, the bar moved into a covered, planted and heated patio, open every day from 7pm to 10.30pm, while guests can still wander through the hanging garden. As opening hours change with the seasons, it's best to check before you go; online booking is recommended. Metro: Étienne Marcel (line 4) or Les Halles.
