A hidden terrace in a luxury hotel

The Fouquet's Paris, a luxury hotel from the Barrière collection whose famous brasserie stands on the corner of the Champs-Élysées, opens its fifth floor to the public in fine weather. The terrace hides behind abundant greenery: plush banquettes, large scalloped parasols, mosaic tables and a bar open to the sky. The atmosphere is meant to be hushed and chic, away from the bustle of the Golden Triangle. Known in previous seasons as Marta, the venue has been completely rethought and now simply presents itself as the Fouquet's rooftop.

The Eiffel Tower above the rooftops

From the terrace, the eye passes over the Haussmann-era rooftops of the neighbourhood to the Eiffel Tower, which stands out between the buildings and lights up at nightfall. Rather than a 360° panorama, it is a framed, intimate view, to be enjoyed at sunset, glass in hand.

Signature cocktails and fusion cuisine

The menu changes with the seasons and has recently taken on a Japanese accent: the cocktails play on notes of yuzu, ginger or wasabi, alongside the great classics and alcohol-free creations, with a selection of Japanese whiskies for enthusiasts. On the food side, sharing dishes with a French-Japanese inspiration: gyozas, nigiris, sashimis, tatakis or yakitoris, priced at roughly €12 to €38. Late in the day, a nu-jazz and house atmosphere accompanies the aperitif before DJ sets take over.

Practical information

A seasonal rooftop, open only in the warmer months and closed in winter: opening dates change from one year to the next, so it is best to check them before coming. It operates in the late afternoon and evening, generally from Wednesday to Sunday, without reservations. Smart casual dress is required: caps, shorts and tracksuits are not accepted, and the venue reserves the right of admission.
