Le Rooftop du Peninsula Paris: the Eiffel Tower opposite, come summer
A bar perched atop a palace hotel
A stone's throw from the Arc de Triomphe, the Peninsula Paris occupies a vast building on avenue Kléber. Its roof, on the sixth floor, brings together two venues: the gastronomic restaurant L'Oiseau Blanc, awarded two stars by the Michelin Guide, and a bar terrace called Le Rooftop. The latter welcomes everyone, with no need to stay at the hotel and no reservations: you simply take a seat as space allows.
A panorama from the Eiffel Tower to the Sacré-Cœur
Between clipped hedges and wrought-iron railings, the terrace faces the Eiffel Tower, which rises above the zinc rooftops of the 16th arrondissement. On the other side, the view stretches all the way to the Montmartre hill and the Sacré-Cœur. Late afternoon, when the sun sets behind the tower, is the most sought-after moment.
Cocktails and sharing plates
The summer menu, called L'Heure Dorée, pairs creative cocktails with small sharing plates devised by executive chef David Bizet and pastry chef Anne Coruble: brioche with Bellota ham, lobster roll or homemade sweet treats. Some of the cocktails are made with a Scotch whisky that is the season's partner. Expect to pay around €20 to €25 for a signature cocktail (price noted in 2025).
Practical information
Le Rooftop is seasonal: it reopens every year when the fine weather returns, generally from May, and closes out of season. In 2026, it was open daily, weather permitting, from 5pm to 1am, with small plates served from 6pm to 10.30pm. As seating is limited, it is best to arrive early. Metro Kléber (line 6), a few minutes from place Charles-de-Gaulle - Étoile.
Outside the bar's season, the gastronomic restaurant L'Oiseau Blanc, on the same floor, also offers dinner overlooking the rooftops of Paris.
