Plantation Paris: a bar on the roof of an urban farm
A 7,000 m² farm above the railway tracks
In the new Chapelle International district, in the north of the 18th arrondissement, Plantation Paris stretches across the roof of renovated former warehouses alongside the railway tracks. Over around 7,000 m², salad greens, aromatic herbs, microgreens and seasonal vegetables are grown here, partly in a greenhouse heated with waste heat recovered from a data centre. Since 2025, a terrace bar open to the public has complemented the farm.
The Sacré-Cœur on the horizon
Perched some fifteen metres up, the terrace does not overlook all of Paris, but it offers a clear view of the Montmartre hill and the Sacré-Cœur, as well as the neighbourhood's new towers. With the pergola, potted trees and string lights, sunsets here are particularly pleasant.
Kitchen-garden cocktails and plant-based food
The cocktails, at around €11, feature herbs and flowers grown on site; there are also natural wines, craft beers brewed nearby and house-made alcohol-free drinks. The fully plant-based kitchen offers sharing plates at low prices. Every weekend, a free programme livens up the roof: open-air concerts, festivals, tastings, workshops and family activities. The venue can also be hired for parties or seminars.
Practical information
The bar operates seasonally, from spring to autumn, and reopens every year: in 2026, the season ran from 24 April to 18 October. It is open on Fridays from 6pm to 1.30am, on Saturdays from noon to 1.30am and on Sundays from noon to 10pm (check before you go). Nearest metro: Porte de la Chapelle (line 12).
