Brasserie Barbès: a drink on the roof facing the Sacré-Cœur
A brasserie on four levels
Opened in 2015 at 2 boulevard Barbès, opposite the Louxor cinema, Brasserie Barbès is spread over four levels of a post-industrial building. On the ground floor, the café-brasserie and its terrace; on the first floor, a large, bright room with glass roofs facing the elevated metro, and a patio whose roof opens up completely in fine weather; higher up, a club and, at the very top, the rooftop.
The rooftop, facing Montmartre
The top level works as a duplex: an intimate club and, just above it, a roof terrace with wooden decking, bistro tables, parasols, greenery and string lights. From the tables, the view takes in the boulevard, the elevated metro and the dome of the Sacré-Cœur rising behind the Haussmann-era buildings. The rooftop stays at roof height: you come here for the neighbourhood atmosphere rather than for a sweeping panorama.
Low-priced cocktails and brasserie cooking
The drinks list features a dozen classic cocktails at €10, from the spritz to the margarita and the Singapore sling, alcohol-free cocktails at €7, wines by the glass from €5 and draught beers. In the kitchen, the brasserie serves its great classics from noon to midnight: eggs mayonnaise, beef tartare, sirloin steak with shallot and bone marrow sauce, or profiterole. In the morning, breakfast set menus are available from €13.
The club and the rooftop can be hired together, for 30 to 85 guests, for a birthday or a corporate party; the first floor also hosts seminars.
Practical information
The brasserie is open daily from 9am to 2am; the rooftop is accessible until midnight and the bar until 2am. Barbès-Rochechouart station (lines 2 and 4) is a minute's walk away. Booking online or by phone.
A friendly, affordable spot for a drink up high in the heart of the Goutte d'Or.
