The roof of The Hoxton
The Hoxton, Downtown LA occupies an imposing historic building on South Broadway, on the south side of Downtown. Its roof brings together a pool lined with banquettes and white umbrellas, a terrace with striped awnings and colorful lounge seating, and a room with a retractable roof. Inanna Bar replaced the roof's former Peruvian restaurant. The vibe is relaxed, with house music in the background, and the line of Downtown towers provides the backdrop at sunset.
A Mediterranean table
The menu puts mezze at the center of the table: hummus ($19), a mezze platter with house-made za'atar pita ($30), falafel, sumac chicken wings, grilled shrimp with harissa butter ($29) or lamb kefta skewers ($30), plus a few dishes from the grill like grilled sea bass or steak frites. The cocktails, $15 to $19, travel around the Mediterranean: mezcal, harissa and mango for the Sirocco Flame, ouzo and mint for the Limonana, Metaxa and fig for the Peloponnesian Fashion. California beers and wines by the glass round out the menu.
The roof can also be booked for parties and group meals.
Practical information
Service starts at 3pm, with a small poolside menu until 5pm, a “Sunset Hour” from 4pm to 6pm, then dinner until 9pm Sunday through Tuesday and until 10pm Wednesday through Saturday. Online reservations are available. A 5% surcharge is added to the check. Pico station (A and E Lines) is about 750 meters away.
