Cabra: ceviche and pisco sours on the roof of The Hoxton
A light-filled dining room atop Fulton Market
The Hoxton hotel rises on Green Street, in the heart of Fulton Market, the neighborhood that turned the West Loop into a playground for food lovers. At the very top, twelve floors above the lobby, Cabra spreads out a large dining room with big windows, colorful banquettes and an abundance of plants. A garage door opens onto the west terrace, partly covered by a glass roof, with views over the neighborhood's rooftops and the towers of the Loop. Seating is also available near the hotel pool. The dining room itself is open year-round.
Peru, Girl & the Goat style
In the kitchen, Stephanie Izard, already known for Girl & the Goat, serves up a Peruvian-inspired menu for sharing: ceviche with leche de tigre, tiraditos, fresh cheese and aji verde dips, anticucho skewers, and goat or chicken empanadas. To drink, the pisco sour ($19) sits alongside cocktails made with guava, passion fruit or kiwi, generally between $18 and $20, and a list of South American wines. A late-afternoon “Grazing Hour” offers small plates and cocktails at friendly prices, and weekend brunch draws a crowd.
The restaurant can be booked privately for up to 175 guests for a cocktail reception, and the west terrace holds about forty.
