The Rooftop at Nobu Chicago: the skyline, Japanese style
A lounge above Restaurant Row
Randolph Street, nicknamed Restaurant Row, is lined with some of Chicago's most sought-after restaurants. The Nobu Hotel sits right nearby, on Peoria Street, and devotes its 11th floor to a sprawling terrace: light floors, low sofas, woven poufs and touches of greenery create a clean, Japanese-inspired look. Facing east, the terrace offers an unobstructed view of the Loop's towers, led by Willis Tower, especially beautiful at dusk. A covered, glassed-in area with heaters completes the rooftop.
Nobu small plates and signature cocktails
The menu channels the spirit of Nobu's restaurants in shareable form: edamame and shishito peppers, crispy rice with spicy tuna, yellowtail jalapeño, shrimp tempura with a creamy spicy sauce, black cod miso, wagyu sliders, tacos, nigiri and maki. The cocktails, $20 to $22, lean Japanese, from a lychee and elderflower martini to an Old Fashioned served over a large stamped ice cube. A selection of imported sakes and the Noburita, made with the house tequila, round out the menu.
The rooftop can also be booked for private events.
