In the Overtoomse Veld neighbourhood, west of the centre, the Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandtpark overlooks the park of the same name. Its top levels are occupied by Floor17, which bills itself as the highest rooftop terrace in Amsterdam: a restaurant and bar on the 17th floor, a terrace on the roof and a floor dedicated to meetings and events. According to the tourist office, the terrace overlooks the park from a height of around 85 metres.
The restaurant's picture windows and the terrace offer an unobstructed panorama over the city: the green of Rembrandtpark in the foreground, then the rooftops and church towers of the centre in the distance. Sunset is particularly popular here.
A menu from lunch to dinner
On the roof, people come for lunch, a drink or a sharing board; at the bar, burgers, bitterballen and fries accompany the cocktails. In the evening the restaurant offers a seasonal menu, featuring for example beef tartare, grilled octopus or beef cheek risotto, as well as a multi-course menu.
A rooftop for every season
In summer, the terrace hosts “skyline disco” nights and open-air cinema screenings. In winter, it turns into a mountain setting with a ten-metre curling lane, accompanied by three- or five-course menus. The venue also lends itself to weddings, meetings and private events.
