Cloud 6: a rooftop terrace in step with the seasons

On the roof of the Marriott City West

Opened in 2023 on Landsberger Straße, between the Westend and Hirschgarten park, the Munich Marriott Hotel City West launched its 6th-floor terrace, named Cloud 6, in May 2025. The space is vast, combining a wooden chalet, large parasols, outdoor lounge areas and garden tables. The view stretches over the rooftops of western Munich and, when the sky is clear, all the way to the Alps.

Summer: spritzes and sunsets

From mid-May to the end of September, Cloud 6 runs as an open-air pop-up bar: spritzes, summer cocktails, sharing plates and grilled food, with DJ sets on some evenings. The first season focused on Mediterranean cuisine, the second, in 2026, on Asian flavours. So the event has returned two summers in a row.

Winter: gondolas, fondue and curling

From mid-November, the terrace is transformed into an Alpine village. Five genuine heated ski gondolas host fondue or raclette dinners at €69 per person for a three-course menu; two Bavarian curling lanes (Eisstockschießen) can be booked with friends or colleagues, and you can warm up with mulled wine or hot champagne. The 2026-2027 winter season starts on 11 November 2026.

Practical information

During its summer and winter seasons, Cloud 6 is open Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm to 10pm, in fine weather only; outside these periods, the terrace is mainly used as a setting for private events. The gondolas and curling lanes are booked in advance online, and the venue also hosts groups and corporate parties. Casual dress. Trams 18 and 19 stop right outside the hotel (Am Lokschuppen stop); Hirschgarten S-Bahn station is about seven minutes' walk away. The hotel's underground car park offers three hours of free parking.
