The Ruby Louise Hotel stands on a quiet street in the centre, Neue Rothofstraße, between the Alte Oper, Goethestraße and its luxury boutiques, and the Fressgass, Frankfurt's foodie street. The common areas are right at the top: the bar and café on the 6th floor, a lounge on the 7th linked by a spiral staircase, and a 400 m² roof terrace, open to hotel guests and visitors alike.
The terrace looks like a garden: apple, pear and cherry trees and beds of aromatic herbs, deckchairs, pouffes, tables and a pavilion, with the towers of the banking district as a backdrop. Under the string lights, the sunset is very pleasant there.
From coffee to cocktails
During the day, the bar serves coffee made by baristas and Italian-inspired snacks; in the evening, the menu switches to cocktails, classics and house creations, at around €12 to €15. Inside, the decor mixes original Biedermeier furniture, copper, marble and street art, a good way to stay dry when the weather turns. Concerts and DJ afternoons sometimes liven up the roof in fine weather.
Practical information
The bar is open every day; the terrace depends on the weather and is best enjoyed in fine weather. You can book a table, but you can also come without a reservation. Relaxed dress. Hauptwache and Taunusanlage stations (S-Bahn) are about five minutes' walk away, as is Alte Oper (U6, U7).
