On the roof of the Börse car park, on the 7th level, GAIA turns the top floor into a Mykonos-style beach club every summer: pool, sun loungers, macramé parasols and a Mediterranean restaurant, with a 360-degree view of Frankfurt's towers.

GAIA: a taste of Mykonos on the Börse car park

A seasonal rooftop terrace in the heart of the city

A stone's throw from the Stock Exchange and the Fressgass, the city centre's foodie street, the car park on Kaiserhofstraße hides one of the city's most popular rooftops on its top level, the 7th floor. Long known as the Long Island Summer Lounge, the venue has been completely redecorated in a bohemian style straight from the Cyclades: rattan and bamboo furniture, parasols and sails of braided rope, exotic plants and statues inspired by Greek mythology. Two bathing areas frame a large covered restaurant, and the view stretches in every direction towards the skyscrapers of the banking district, superb at sunset.

Mediterranean cuisine, cocktails and DJs

The food, provided by the Greek restaurant at the foot of the car park, combines Mediterranean dishes and Greek specialities, from tzatziki and pitas to dishes of the day. At the bar, cocktails such as the Espresso Martini or the Gin Basil Smash cost around €16, as do the frozen cocktails, while spritzes start below €10. Rosés from Provence and champagnes can be ordered up to very large formats. At weekends, DJs regularly liven up the evenings, and the roof can be hired for private events.

Practical information

Seasonal, GAIA reopens every year when the good weather returns, usually from May to September, and opens only if the weather allows: Tuesday to Friday from 5.30pm to 1am, Saturday from 4.30pm; Sunday and Monday are reserved for events. The terrace and pool area are accessible without a reservation, on a self-service basis; restaurant tables are booked online, with a minimum spend of €50 per person. Smart dress is required: no swimwear, flip-flops or sportswear. Access by the lift or stairs of the Börse car park; U-Bahn Hauptwache or Alte Oper a few minutes' walk away. It is best to check the reopening date on the venue's social media.
