The Social Hub: a rooftop with a pool above place de l'Europe
A hybrid hotel in a former fire station
Opened in September 2022 opposite place de l'Europe, in the Compans-Caffarelli district, The Social Hub has moved into a former fire station. The venue combines a hotel, a student residence, coworking spaces and meeting rooms. Its summer trump card is right at the top: a roof terrace perched some twenty metres above the square, laid out around a central pool shaped like a swimming lane.
Striped sun loungers and a glowing pergola
Redesigned in 2025, the rooftop is divided between an area of striped poolside daybeds, a dining section by the bar and a lounge corner with armchairs for a quiet chat. Wooden decking, parasols, planters and a pergola hung with white lanterns make up the setting. The panorama over the rooftops of the Pink City is at its most dazzling at sunset.
Mediterranean tapas and spritz
In the kitchen, chef Grégory Fritsch has created a Mediterranean-inspired menu designed for sharing: razor clams with garlic and parsley, hummus, garlic prawns, smoked aubergine caviar, beef carpaccio or bonito tataki, not forgetting charcuterie and cheese boards and artisan ice cream. At the bar, signature cocktails, variations on the spritz and local wines. DJ sets, concerts, themed evenings, yoga and aqua aerobics liven up the season, and the rooftop can be hired privately for events.
Practical information
The rooftop is seasonal: it reopens every spring (on 13 May in 2026) and closes in September. In 2026, it welcomes the public free of charge from 6pm to 11pm, Wednesday to Sunday, then every day in high season; during the day, it is reserved for hotel guests and members.
