Mama Shelter Toulouse: a festive rooftop above the Pink City
A hotel behind the façade of a performance venue
On boulevard Lazare-Carnot, Mama Shelter Toulouse has slipped in behind the façade of a former performance venue, a few minutes' walk from place du Capitole. The brand's hotel houses a cinema, karaoke rooms and a ground-floor restaurant, but its most sought-after space is up on the roof: a rooftop open to everyone, whether or not they are staying at the hotel.
Fringed parasols and rooftop views
The rooftop goes all out on colour. Cushion-strewn banquettes, sun loungers, fringed parasols and straw sunshades, potted olive trees and palms are spread between lounge corners and long high tables facing the bar. From the banquettes, the view sweeps across the tiled rooftops of the city centre, a particularly lovely sight at sunset.
Pizzas to share and spritz
The menu is all about sharing: pizzas, boards and small plates to nibble on, served from 5pm. At the bar, the team's signature cocktails sit alongside a selection of spritzes and the great classics, from margarita to negroni, at €12 or €13. In summer, the venue moves to the rhythm of DJ sets and themed evenings; in 2026, a spicy season paired chilli-laced cocktails with hot sauces from a French artisan producer. Yoga sessions are also held on some Sundays.
Practical information
The rooftop comes into its own in fine weather. According to the hours published in October 2026, it opens Monday to Wednesday from 5pm to midnight, and Thursday to Sunday from noon to midnight. Booking is recommended for lunch; from 4pm, entry is on a walk-in basis, with no reservation needed. Jean-Jaurès metro station (lines A and B) is close by. Information on 05 31 50 50 00.
A convivial spot for a drink up high in the very heart of Toulouse.
