Sky Center: Marseille from the 30th floor of the Tour La Marseillaise
A hanging garden 135 metres up
In the Arenc district, the Tour La Marseillaise, designed by Jean Nouvel, is home to the Sky Center, right at the top on the 30th floor. Reopened to the public in July 2025 after months of works, this lookout occupies the tower's roof garden, redesigned by two Marseille firms. Inspired by the Calanques, the route leads from a stone-and-glass bar to a paved terrace dotted with sculpted benches, pine trees and plantings.
The bay in 180 degrees
The terrace opens onto a 180° panorama facing the sea: the port and its quays, the Frioul islands, the Mucem and Fort Saint-Jean, Notre-Dame de la Garde and, on clear days, the Sainte-Victoire and the hills of the Calanques. Visitors explore at their own pace, with a free app that describes the viewpoints, and there is a pétanque court.
Tapas, cocktails and evenings up high
Maison Goustine serves tapas for sharing, from panisses de l'Estaque to pinsa, priced from €8 to €29. Cocktails cost €12 to €17, and alcohol-free creations €9. DJ sets and sunset gatherings set the rhythm of the season, and in July and August the Comedy in the Sky stand-up night returns every Tuesday.
Practical information
Entry is by ticket booked online: €10 in May–June and September–October, €12 in July–August, free for young children; anything you order is extra. The Sky Center operates in the warmer months, from May to October: it opens on Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm to 11pm, and Thursday to Saturday from mid-July to the end of August. Tram T2 and T3 to the Arenc Le Silo stop, Joliette metro station a quarter of an hour's walk away, and the Indigo Quai d'Arenc car park close by. The venue is accessible to people with reduced mobility and can be hired for up to 250 guests.
A one-of-a-kind spot to take in the whole bay at a single glance, ideally at dusk.
