Le Toit-Terrasse du Grand Hôtel Bellevue: the Grand-Place seen from above
A hotel on the Grand-Place, a terrace on the roof
The four-star Grand Hôtel Bellevue is the only hotel built on the Grand-Place, with its entrance on rue Jean Roisin. Its roof is home to a rooftop terrace open to the public, designed as an open-air lounge: teak tables and armchairs, wooden decking, planters and glass balustrades.
Facing the Vieille Bourse and the belfry
The view is the venue's greatest asset. In the foreground are the slate roofs of the Vieille Bourse, built in the 17th century; just behind, the Chamber of Commerce belfry and its large clock, then the dome of the Opéra. On the other side stretch the roofs of Vieux-Lille. The light shifts through the afternoon and evening, and the square's Flemish façades glow with colour at sunset.
Signature cocktails and a Mediterranean break
The rooftop terrace serves signature cocktails and a selection of drinks to enjoy outdoors, for an aperitif, after-work drinks or a date for two. In summer 2026, it also opened for lunch from Wednesday to Sunday, with a Mediterranean-inspired menu: grills, fish, vegetarian dishes and homemade bread. The venue can be hired for private events.
Practical information
Opening hours vary with the season: since 5 October 2026, the rooftop terrace has been open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm to 11pm, and the hotel announces its schedule for the rest of the year week by week. It is best to check before you come, on the website or on 03 20 57 45 64. Rihour metro station is just a few steps away; public car park nearby.
