Mesa: a hanging garden above Euralille
On the top floor of the ShAke
On rue de la Chaude Rivière, in the heart of the business district, Mesa occupies the 9th floor of the ShAke building, around 40 metres up. The name, which means “table” in Spanish, sets the tone: here, people come to share. The interior mixes pale banquettes, plants, a stylised tree and vintage finds, with large picture windows opening onto the city.
A leafy terrace facing the sunset
Outside, the terrace is laid out like a hanging garden, with palm trees, an olive tree, armchairs and string lights. Part of it can be covered. The view stretches over the towers of Euralille and the roofs as far as the belfry, and the show peaks at sunset. In winter, blankets and heaters keep the terrace open.
Global brasserie and cocktails
In the kitchen, chef and co-director Julien Duchaussoy creates contemporary brasserie cooking with Hispanic and Asian influences. At lunchtime, a short menu and a business set menu are designed for teams working in the area; in the evening, it's time for tapas and sharing plates, with most tapas priced from €9 to €14. At the bar, signature and classic cocktails cost €12 or €13, alongside a list of mocktails, wines and champagnes.
On Fridays and Saturdays, an artist performs live and the Mesa Club keeps the party going until 1.30am. The venue also has a seminar room and private lounges available for hire, and part of the terrace can be reserved for groups.
