Terrasse Alizé: a garden perched on the 9th floor of the Humaniti
An oasis between the towers
The Humaniti hotel occupies a set of glass towers on Rue De La Gauchetière Ouest, between the Quartier international and Chinatown. On the 9th floor, Terrasse Alizé stretches out at the foot of the glass façades, near the hotel pool: flowering green walls, potted palms, parasols, banquettes and pastel-coloured chairs. The view takes in the neighbouring towers and a few downtown rooftops rather than a vast panorama, but the spot, sheltered from the bustle of the street, has the air of a seaside resort.
The terrace is open to everyone, whether or not they are hotel guests. Pergolas cover part of the space, which is heated on cool evenings.
Mediterranean flavours and barbecue
The summer menu is built around sharing: falafel, fried calamari, fish tacos, beef tartare, maple-miso glazed black cod or poke bowl. From 5pm, the barbecue takes over with harissa Cornish hen, beef flank steak and lobster roll. For drinks, there are signature cocktails with fruity or spicy flavours, a peach slush, mocktails, wines and spritzes.
Weekly events
With lounge music in the background, Spritz Sunday, Pitcher Monday and Margarita Tuesday punctuate the week, and an express menu is served on Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. Groups and companies can hold their after-work events there.
