Rose Orange: a terrace on the 44th floor of Place Ville Marie
At the top of a downtown skyscraper
Place Ville Marie, one of Montreal's best-known skyscrapers, brings together several restaurants at its summit. On the 44th floor, Rose Orange occupies an open-air terrace that Place Ville Marie presents as the highest outdoor viewpoint in the city. Opened in summer 2023, it sits next to the Cappello trattoria on the same floor, Sora 45 one floor up and the Hiatus restaurant on the 46th.
Beyond the glass railings, the panorama stretches over the downtown towers, Mount Royal and, further away, Saint Joseph's Oratory.
A garden, bubbles and cocktails
The setting evokes a hanging garden: flowers, potted shrubs, parasols, wicker armchairs and cushioned sofas. The drinks menu features spritzes, reinvented classic cocktails, a small selection around Don Julio tequila, mocktails and Veuve Clicquot champagnes by the glass or by the bottle. A seasonal menu of sharing plates accompanies the drinks.
A warm-season address
Rose Orange only operates in summer: the rest of the year, the terrace is closed, and it is best to check opening dates before heading up. On fine evenings, the wait can be long, and opinions on the service are mixed; the view, however, is unanimously praised.
