Perché occupies a terrace on the 4th floor of the William Gray hotel, with an address on Rue Saint-Amable, the little street that leads onto Place Jacques-Cartier. Below, Old Montreal comes alive; on the roof, palm trees, green rope armchairs, white banquettes and tropical-print cushions create a holiday setting, with City Hall as a backdrop. The terrace can be covered or heated as needed, making it possible to eat outdoors all summer and to extend the season into autumn. Perché is a venue in its own right, with its own menu, phone number and bookings, separate from Terrasse William Gray on the 8th floor of the same hotel.
Tropical cocktails and fresh plates
The bar showcases recipes with coconut, lime and citrus: the menu lists nine cocktails from $16 to $21 and three mocktails at $12. In the kitchen, fresh Mediterranean- and Asian-inspired dishes, with fish, meat and vegetarian options, are served at brunch, lunch and dinner, with light sharing plates at aperitif time.
