A hotel rooftop open to all
The Vibe Hotel Sydney Darling Harbour stands on Sussex Street, in the western part of the CBD, a few streets from the Darling Harbour waterfront. On the top floor, the 14th, Above 319 occupies an open-air terrace partly sheltered by an awning, with green walls, a central tree ringed by a bar counter, banquettes and pink neon. In the evening, the residential and office towers around it light up, and the view opens out towards the skyline and the water of Darling Harbour. The bar welcomes hotel guests and visitors alike; the heated pool next door, however, is reserved for hotel guests.
Australian cocktails and sharing boards
The cocktail list showcases Australian ingredients and botanicals (lemon myrtle, rosella, gumbi gumbi, paperbark) and a series of creations made with Red Mill rum, distilled in Sydney. Prices range from A$22 to A$30, with a few alcohol-free cocktails. To go with them, there are sharing boards. Wednesday to Friday, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, happy hour offers wines and beers at A$10 and cocktails at A$15. A high tea is served by reservation, and New Year's Eve is celebrated with a DJ party. The terrace can be hired for events of up to 90 people.
