A pool perched above the city
The Marriott Hotel Downtown stands on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street, one of the main thoroughfares crossing Abu Dhabi Island. At the very top of the tower, on the 25th floor, AT25 is arranged around a pool framed by high walls and picture windows, open to the sky. Some of the seating is outdoors, by the water; the rest is in a renovated indoor lounge, with dimmed lighting and string lights in the evening. From the roof, the view sweeps over the towers and wide avenues of the city centre, particularly beautiful as the sun goes down.
Cocktails, shisha and sharing plates
The drinks list lines up signature cocktails, mocktails, sparkling wines and rosés. Shisha is part of the offer, with a choice of premium flavours. In the kitchen, sharing plates mix Middle Eastern and international flavours: shish tawook sliders, spicy prawns, grilled lamb chops, salads and soups. The atmosphere remains that of a lounge, with soft background music: a place for an aperitif or a light weekday dinner rather than for partying. Open all year round, the roof is just as suited to a quick drink after work as to a long evening around the pool.

Open every day from the afternoon until around 1am; hours change depending on the period, so it is best to call before coming. Reservations on +971 2 304 7777 or online via the hotel's restaurants page. Casual dress accepted. Abu Dhabi has no metro: come by taxi or car; the hotel is in the heart of the island, away from the Corniche.
