Ruby Claire Rooftop: two terraces perched above the Rue du Rhône

A bar open 24 hours a day on the top floor

At number 46 Rue du Rhône, the shopping thoroughfare of the Rues-Basses, the Ruby Claire hotel has set up its bar on the 7th floor. Open to everyone, day and night, it mixes eclectic fabrics, bright colours and patterns from all corners of the world. Along the front of the building, two terraces run along the picture windows: pale paving slabs, mosaic tables, rattan armchairs, mismatched chairs, potted plants, large white parasols embroidered with gold and strings of paper lanterns. The setting is urban rather than panoramic: the eye sweeps over the roofs and shop signs of the city centre, with no view of the lake or the Jet d'Eau. People come here for the relaxed atmosphere, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the shops.

Cocktails, coffee and small Italian plates

The bar serves signature cocktails and classics, wine, beer, soft drinks and barista coffee. To go with them, a short Italian-inspired menu offers sharing plates, at lunchtime as well as in the evening. Evenings with DJs or live music regularly liven up the venue, and vintage board games are available. The bar can be hired for a party or an event.

Practical information

The indoor bar is open all year round, 24 hours a day. The terraces open from Easter to October, weather permitting, from 6am to 1am from Sunday to Wednesday and until 2am from Thursday to Saturday. Online booking available. Card payment only: the venue does not accept cash. Tram 12 or 17 to the Molard stop, about a hundred metres away.
