Ginkgo Sky Bar: the Royal Palace in its sights
A rooftop at the top of the VP Plaza España Design
Facing Plaza de España, the five-star VP Plaza España Design hotel houses Ginkgo Restaurante & Sky Bar on its 12th floor. A direct entrance from the street lets you go up without passing through the hotel reception. The space combines a glass-walled dining room and a vast open-air terrace, decorated with ginkgo leaf motifs.
The view sweeps right around the horizon: the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral on one side, Plaza de España and its towers on the other, then the rooftops of the Madrid de los Austrias. Sunset here is particularly popular.
All-day dining, cocktails and live music
The menu blends Mediterranean cuisine with Asian influences, served non-stop from 1pm to 11pm; brunch is available at weekends. At the bar, signature cocktails sit alongside the classics. The music programme livens up the evenings, with house DJ sessions at weekends and a show on Friday evenings. The spaces can be booked for private events.
