Sky Bar Oriente: the Tagus from the 16th floor
The rooftop of Parque das Nações
Far from the hills of the historic centre, Parque das Nações is Lisbon's contemporary district, developed on the banks of the Tagus for the 1998 World Expo. The Tivoli Oriente hotel rises here a stone's throw from Oriente station, and its 16th floor is home to Sky Bar Oriente, part of the Tivoli hotels' Sky Bar brand.
From the glazed terraces, the view stretches across the estuary, very wide at this point, and along the long deck of the Vasco da Gama Bridge. On the other side, the residential towers and roofs of the district take shape. Late in the day, the low-angled light colours the river and the opposite bank.
Signature cocktails and sushi
The drinks list gives pride of place to signature cocktails with Japanese names, all at €18, alongside classics, whiskies and wines. In the kitchen, a counter prepares fusion sushi, complemented by plates to nibble on such as nachos or mini pregos.
A covered central area means the venue can be enjoyed all year round, even when the wind blows across the river. The spot is just as suited to an after-work drink as to a business lunch.
