Pigneto: an Italian-style terrace above Otemachi
A terrace 200 metres above the business district
The Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi is located in a tower in the Otemachi business district, directly connected to the metro. On the 39th floor, its two restaurants, the Italian Pigneto and the French Est, open onto a shared open-air terrace, around 200 metres above the street. Round tables, armchairs and large parasols line up behind a glass balustrade: on one side the skyscrapers of the centre, on the other the greenery of the gardens of the Imperial Palace, and on clear days Mount Fuji on the horizon. The scene changes throughout the day, peaceful at midday, livelier at dusk, sparkling once night has fallen.
Italian cuisine and an aperitif at sunset
Pigneto reinterprets classic Italian recipes with seasonal Japanese produce: three- or four-course menus at lunch and dinner, a selection of pasta and oven-baked pizzas to share, fish in acqua pazza. At the end of the day, the terrace becomes a spot for an Italian-style aperitif, with Italian-inspired cocktails, beers and sparkling wines served with antipasti; an aperitif package combines a cocktail and crostini.
