KölnSKY: dinner facing the cathedral

At the top of the Deutz tower

The KölnTriangle, a glass tower some hundred metres tall on the right bank near the exhibition centre, looks the old town straight in the eye. Its 27th and 28th floors house KölnSKY, a reception hall surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, hired out for weddings, seminars and corporate evenings. The view takes in the cathedral, the Hohenzollernbrücke, the station, the Colonius television tower and the course of the Rhine.

Pop-up dinners and brunches, on set dates

It is neither a bar nor a restaurant open every day. On certain dates, usually on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm, the 27th floor becomes a pop-up restaurant: a gourmet menu of four, five or six courses, classic or vegetarian, with an optional wine pairing, from €95 per person excluding drinks. On some Sundays, a brunch is served at the table on shelves, for around €80 excluding drinks. The dates are published on the website and sell out fast. Diners can go up to the panoramic roof terrace free of charge.

Without a reservation, the Cologne View panoramic platform, at the top of the same tower, can be visited separately with a ticket costing about €5.

Practical information

Access is by online reservation only, on the announced dates; the venue is closed to the public the rest of the time and during private events. There is no guarantee of a seat by the windows, but the view remains clear from the second row. Step-free access, lifts up to the halls and the terrace, underground car park beneath the tower. Köln Messe/Deutz station (S-Bahn, regional trains, Stadtbahn) is at the foot of the tower; the cathedral is a quarter of an hour's walk away across the Hohenzollernbrücke.
