Le Toit de la Tour: Notre-Dame opposite, the Seine below
The rooftop of a quai de la Tournelle institution
An iconic Left Bank restaurant, the Tour d'Argent took advantage of its renovation to open up its roof. On the seventh floor, the lift opens onto a hanging garden of grasses, flowers and aromatic herbs, ringed by an ornamental band of zinc and silver designed by architect Franklin Azzi as a nod to the rooftops of Paris. The space remains intimate, with only around thirty seats.
Face to face with Notre-Dame
The terrace overlooks the Seine and the tip of the Île Saint-Louis; directly opposite rise the towers and spire of Notre-Dame, while the dome of the Panthéon comes into view on the other side. The most sought-after moment is sunset, before the monuments light up.
Champagne, cocktails and bites
The menu highlights the house champagne, served by the glass from €32, and creative cocktails priced from €28 to €32, alongside mocktails at €18. To go with your drink, there are savoury and sweet bites: duck terrine with pistachios, hummus, salmon rillettes, a cheese plate or Tour d'Argent cake to share. A few steps higher, a perched dining spot extends the experience with the cooking of chef Yannick Franques. Some evenings are livened up by a DJ.
Practical information
Le Toit de la Tour is seasonal. After summer seasons in 2024 and 2025, it offered a first winter edition from 27 November 2025 to 14 February 2026, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, then reopened on 21 April 2026. In autumn 2026, it is closed and has announced its return in a winter version. Days and times change with the season: check the Tour d'Argent website, which also handles bookings, strongly recommended given the limited capacity. Entrance at 15 quai de la Tournelle; metro: Maubert-Mutualité (line 10) or Pont Marie (line 7).
