A rooftop opposite the Vieux-Port
A stone's throw from the Suquet and a few minutes' walk from the Palais des Festivals, the Canopy by Hilton hotel lines boulevard Jean Hibert, right opposite the Vieux-Port. Marea occupies its top level, on the seventh floor, some thirty metres above the street. The venue is split between an indoor dining room facing the harbour and a vast terrace of around 400 m² that opens onto the sea.
From the îles de Lérins to the Estérel
Outside, the view takes in the whole bay: the îles de Lérins lying offshore, the Estérel massif on the horizon and, close by, the houses of the Suquet towering over the old town. The end of the day is the best time to come up, as the light fades over the sea and the first lights come on around the harbour.
Mediterranean flavours and Riviera cocktails
Executive chef Alexander Douglas Burger has created a menu inspired by the cuisines of the Mediterranean coast, using produce from local suppliers: sharing plates such as hummus with smoked harissa or crab arancini, tuna tartare and salmon ceviche, followed by meat and seafood mains. At the bar, each signature cocktail is named after a town on the Côte d'Azur, from Saint-Tropez to Nice, and they are priced at €20, as are the great classics; an alcohol-free menu rounds out the offer.
The rooftop can also be booked for private events, either in part or in full.
Practical information
Marea is open every day, all year round, from 5pm to 11pm. Booking is recommended for the restaurant, while the lounge bar area is open to all without a reservation. Bookings on 04 92 99 73 29 or online; valet parking is offered subject to availability. During the day, the hotel's Brunch Club Café Crème takes over.
