Terrasse Belvu: the Château Champlain's summer terrace

Facing Windsor Station

The Marriott Château Champlain stands on the edge of Place du Canada, in the heart of downtown. On the hotel's 3rd floor, Terrasse Belvu spreads out its tables, banquettes and hanging ferns and wicker lanterns in the open air. On one side, the stone façade of Windsor Station; on the other, the green dome of Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral and the towers of the business district. You are not as high up as on the city's big rooftops, but the setting, between heritage and skyscrapers, is one of the most photogenic in the area.

There is no need to stay at the hotel: you cross the lobby and the elevator takes you straight up to the terrace.

Mediterranean sharing plates

The menu draws on southern Europe: flambéed halloumi, grilled octopus, salmon tartare with dill, burrata, carpaccios, a trio of dips (baba ganoush, hummus, muhammara) and a seafood platter for two with oysters and lobster. House cocktails and mocktails round out the offering, such as a raspberry and mint margarita.

From aperitifs to evening

From Wednesday to Saturday, DJs play from 5pm to 10pm and the atmosphere goes up a notch at sunset. Some winters, the terrace has been transformed into Belvu Hors-Piste, an après-ski version with fireplaces and raclette; check before you go whether it is on offer.

Practical information

A seasonal terrace, open in summer and closed in winter: during the season, it opens every day from 11.30am to 11pm, with the kitchen open from noon to 10.30pm and a break from 3pm to 4pm.
