Taverne Atlantic: a modern tavern and its rooftop terrace in Mile-Ex
A tavern on the corner of Parc and Beaubien
Opened in late 2019, Taverne Atlantic occupies a street corner in Mile-Ex, north of Mile End, on the edge of La Petite-Patrie. Inside, the Art Deco spirit dominates: a long wooden bar, banquettes, bottle display cases and soft lighting. On the roof, a wooden terrace, sheltered by a pergola and filled with plants, opens onto the neighbourhood rooftops and unobstructed sunsets.
Cocktails, beers and snack-bar fare
The cocktail list hovers around $15: tequila Michelada, Charlevoix Sour, rye old fashioned, Long Island with Earl Grey syrup; several alcohol-free cocktails are $9. Microbrewery beers and natural wines round out the offering. In the kitchen, until midnight, the food takes the form of reinvented snack-bar fare: pizzas, hot dog with house-made sausage, garlic and grana padano fries, chicken schnitzel, burrata.
A rooftop for summer evenings
The tavern operates all year round, but it is in fine weather that the roof takes over, from early-evening drinks until nightfall. The atmosphere is that of a lively, unpretentious neighbourhood bar, popular with Montrealers.
