Sky Bar: a touch of New York above Wynyard
Around the Shell House clock
Shell House brings together four venues in a historic building in central Sydney, arranged around a 400-tonne heritage clock tower. Sky Bar occupies the top, on level 10: warm-toned pavilions, curved furniture and ceilings studded with tiny lights, with floor-to-ceiling windows that retract to let the air in. No harbour or Opera House here: the view loses itself among the glass-and-steel towers of the business district, which light up as night falls.
Cocktails and a carefully crafted bar menu
The cocktail list, priced between A$17 and A$30, gives pride of place to margaritas, spritzes and a few bolder creations, such as a tiramisu old fashioned. The food, created by the group's culinary director, features Sydney rock oysters, caviar, a fish sandwich, a wagyu burger and chips. From Tuesday to Saturday, 4pm to 6pm, Golden Hours bring a few cocktails and bites at bargain prices. In the evening, resident DJs and guest artists turn up the atmosphere.
