Aster: Sydney Harbour from the 32nd floor
A lounge perched atop the InterContinental
InterContinental Sydney, which takes in the former Treasury Building (built in 1851) and reopened in late 2022 after a complete renovation, reserves its top level for Aster. The decor plays on midnight blues, velvet and reflective surfaces, with low seating that keeps the view unobstructed. Through the picture windows, then from the outdoor counter that runs along the façade, the eye takes in the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, Kirribilli and the lawns of the Royal Botanic Garden, across an angle of around 270 degrees.
Cosmic cocktails and small plates
The 2026 signature menu features around fifteen creations inspired by the layers of the atmosphere and outer space, from A$32 to A$35, alongside the great classics and a series of martinis. To go with your drinks, there are small plates built around local produce, charcuterie boards and even a box of nuggets served with caviar. On Mondays, the Skyline Sessions bring live music and lower prices from 5pm to 7pm; on Saturdays, a DJ takes over from 6pm to 11pm.
