Terracota: aperitifs on the rooftops of Palma's Call
A noble house and its roof terrace
The Antigua Palma hotel occupies a stately home remodelled in the 17th century, on Carrer del Sol, in the Call, the former Jewish quarter, a short walk from the promenade that runs along the ramparts. The route to the top level is part of the charm: you cross the Baroque patio and the sandstone vaults before emerging on the fourth floor, onto a terrace of about 180 m².
It is divided into three areas: the bar-restaurant under large beige sails, a relaxation corner planted with palm trees and planters, and a pool surrounded by sun loungers reserved for hotel guests. The view takes in the tiles and bell towers of the historic centre, including that of Sant Francesc.
Wines, vermouths and tapas
The menu follows the rhythm of the day: Spanish wines, vermouths, cocktails and tapas to share, goat's cheese salad, köfte or small potato bites. Drink prices are rather high. Concerts are regularly scheduled at sunset, and shaded seats remain limited in high summer.
