The Es Princep hotel occupies the corner of the Bala Roja, on the eastern edge of the old town, where the old ramparts overlook the Parc de la Mar and the seafront. Its top-floor terrace, long known as AlmaQ, now bears the name of the hotel. It combines a lounge in the shade of a reed pergola, tables facing the sea and a sunbathing area.
The view is one of the most open in the historic centre: the bay of Palma, the port, the palm-lined promenade and, on the other side, the silhouette of the Cathedral above the rooftops. The pool and sun loungers are reserved for hotel guests, but the bar and lounge welcome everyone.
From morning coffee to evening cocktail
The terrace opens in mid-morning: the atmosphere is calm during the day, then the music picks up in the late afternoon, when regulars and visitors come for an aperitif. The menu combines cocktails, wines and small plates to share, such as patatas bravas, croquettes or a ceviche, along with a few more substantial dishes. Prices are those of a five-star hotel.

Open every day from 10.30am until nightfall, all year round; the last hour listed is around 10.30pm in season. Booking recommended for a sunset table. Smart dress expected. Access through the hotel lobby, Carrer de la Bala Roja 1, about ten minutes' walk from the Cathedral through the Parc de la Mar; public car parks near the seafront.
