Ç The Rooftop: the sea and the Cathedral from La Calatrava

A multi-level roof

The design hotel El Llorenç borders the Plaça de Llorenç Villalonga, in La Calatrava, the district overlooking the Parc de la Mar east of the Cathedral. Its roof, laid out on several levels, brings together a cocktail bar, woven lounges, openwork cabanas and sun loungers under green raffia parasols.

On the lower level, a long infinity pool, presented as the longest in Palma, is reserved for hotel guests. The upper floors, with the bar and tables, are open to all and offer a panorama over the bay, the seafront palm trees, the Parc de la Mar and the Cathedral. In the evening, the lights of the city and the port take over.

Cocktails, snacks and signature cuisine

From noon, the bar serves a menu of classic cocktails at around €16, spritzes, wines, champagne and refined snacks. In fine weather, the Urbà restaurant, run by a renowned Mallorcan chef, takes over the roof for lunch and dinner with cuisine that blends local produce and international influences.

Practical information

Open to visitors every day from noon to 11pm, depending on the weather, all year round. Reservations only for lunch or dinner, not for a simple drink: first come, first served. Non-smoking area, wifi. Plaça de Llorenç Villalonga 4, a five-minute walk from the Cathedral through the Parc de la Mar; public seafront car parks nearby.
