A hotel bar open to the city
The Aloft Dublin City hotel stands on Mill Street, in the Liberties district, less than 400 metres from St Patrick's Cathedral and less than a kilometre from the Guinness Storehouse. Its bar occupies the 7th floor. The decor plays with colour: fuchsia armchairs, teal stools, a ceiling of illuminated cubes and a pool table. The picture windows and the large outdoor terrace look out over the city. The venue attracts Dubliners as much as hotel guests, and it has been named Ireland's best hotel bar several times.
Directly opposite rises the spire of St Patrick's Cathedral, above the brick roofs of the neighbourhood; further away, the view stretches towards the centre and, to the south, towards the Dublin Mountains.
Cocktails and sharing plates
The cocktail list mixes house creations and great classics, alongside draught beers and wines. On the food side, a short menu of sharing plates and bistro dishes accompanies the drinks, and limited-edition cocktails are created with the seasons and festivities.
Practical information
Open every day from 12pm, until 11.30pm from Sunday to Thursday and until 12.30am on Friday and Saturday. You can book a table online; part of the bar is sometimes hired out for events, so it is best to call ahead. Temple Bar is just over a kilometre to the north-east, St Patrick's Cathedral a few minutes' walk away.
