The Roof: terraces and fusion cuisine above Flingern
The top floor of a design hotel
The b'mine hotel is on the Höherweg, in the Flingern-Süd district, east of the centre. A lift goes up to the 6th floor, entirely occupied by The Roof: a glazed lounge room and several wooden terraces spread around the building. The panorama is nothing like a postcard, but it has character: the roofs of Flingern, the greenery of a neighbouring park, the chimneys and towers of the heating plant, and the silhouette of the Rheinturm on the horizon.
Nikkei cuisine and cocktails with Japanese accents
In the evening, the restaurant serves fusion cuisine inspired by Asia and Nikkei traditions, to share in small plates or à la carte, with set menus from €39. On the bar side, the menu also plays the Japanese card: sakes, shochus, Yuzu Sour or Kirschblüte Spritz, alongside classics such as the Negroni, the Mojito or the Whiskey Sour, between €12 and €14. Street food snacks go with the afterwork drink. The breakfast buffet is open to non-residents (€28), served until 1pm at weekends with a glass of sparkling wine. The events calendar also announces culinary evenings, such as a chef's table, and a New Year's Eve party.
